| Ran with my buddy Larry Shaw. Snoqualmie up Mill pond and saw Sean and Mark going the other way. about 3.5 miles in Larry tweaked his hammy so we had to walk for a bit and then jogged back to the car. Then I felt like I needed more so went on tred for a bit to finish up. It was so cold this am...37 at 7 am. feeling good. Going to pick up the miles here next week.

| 39 degrees and cold. wore shorts though...with gloves. tried to keep my HR around 150 and was pretty close. splits 8:50,9:09,8:50,8:54,8:28. Last one I kicked up trying to make it back before my 5 year old got on the bus...dang it! missed. Feeling really good though. Avg pace 8:50 and HR avg. 151

| Exact same run as yesterday...except my HR was higher by an avg. of 3 bpm This was second day in a row run and I didn't sleep as well as I did the night before...for some reason I am not sleeping as well on Monday and Thursday nights and it might have something to do with teaching the next morning. I'm not worried or anything like that but I must get anxious or something during the night... Splits 8:45, 9:09, 8:38, 8:50, 8:48 Avg. pace 8:50 Avg. HR 155
Feeling good though.... tomorrow will be a day off and then run Thurs. and Sat. for sure and maybe Xtrain on Friday....

| Monday and Tuesday street runs took their toll on my body and I was happy to do half of my run today on the trails. The trails force me to work harder and definitely slow me down but are sure nice on the legs, etc. Avg pace 9:18 Avg HR 155

| 35 minutes elliptical...easy warm-up and then moderate. Tried to keep HR around 140 and it worked except for a brief run up to 146. Beautiful weather here for running....looking forward to an 8 miler tomorrow morning...longest run in about 3-4 months. gonna keep an easy pace and run on flat ground.

| Decided to run from home to Grandma and Grandpa's house in North Bend for my first long run in 3 or 4 months. Went quite well...dropped in elevation from my house at 890 to about 450 at their place so that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. Kept a nice easy pace the whole way and my HR stayed quite low. The wind was blowing like crazy and unfortunately it was against me the whole way, even down the big hill(Spirit Crusher as Sno calls it). It is Spirit Lifter when you get to go down it. Wind was super bad toward the end where the sno valley trail is and it just runs right down the trail as it's the only place for the wind to go. Ate some buttermilk pancakes, bacon, egg and a couple of dark chocolate reeses cups when I got there.
Avg. HR was 143 and Avg. Pace was 9:04

| Wherefore it was extremely windy this morning, therefore I did put on my running pants and jacket and lace up my shoes and hit the trails(as much as possible) to avoid the cold and harsh wind. Fitness is on the rebound and am feeling good during runs that were tough a few weeks back. Loving the challenge of the hills here too. Avg. pace 9:11 Avg. HR 147

And it came to pass that there was a mighty rushing of wind, and thus we see that running outside is not a good thing when you can't stay standing upright...
Treddy run. Pretty boring but was working on a few things while running so it wasn't totally bad. HR stayed below 140 for the first 30 minutes and didn't get above 150 for the rest.

Rained overnight but was clear this a.m. - not much wind but it was cool, around mid 40's Easy run however my HR moniter seemed to be off since it shot right up to over 183 and started beeping saying it was too high. Maybe need to change the battery. Homemade cinnamon rolls afterwards with some chocolate milk.
Street run most of the way. Splits:
8:50, 9:24, 8:55, 8:56, 8:30 Another easy run tomorrow and then 8 or 9 on Sat.

| Crazy day this morning...we were in a cloud with heavy mist. It was still dark at 7:30. Just wasn't feeling like being out in the elements today so hit the tread. Considering running the turkey trot coming up around thanksgiving. Haven't done any speed work to speak of but am going to do a 1 mile hill run tomorrow that seems to work just as well for fitness.

| Tough workout...hills, hills, and more hills! Hit the trail which has a pretty hard hill then ran the parkway hill(about a mile). Cold outside in low 40's. Had to wear pants, jacket and gloves but did get a little warm after a bit. Sweating like crazy when I got home.
Avg. Pace 9:15 Avg. HR 157(way high but that's because of the hills) topped out at 174(yikes)

| It was raining too hard today for me to have any desire to go out there...still have a little cold and don't want it to get worse. Had to miss yesterday due to a late after seminary meeting. This week will be 2 days on then 2 days off, then 2 days on. Tread run with some memorizing while I was at it. Wore the HR monitor and gradually went up to 150 then slowly backed down. Tomorrow will be about 6.5 miles or so on flat ground...

Not sure why this run kicked my butt all over town...but it did.
High 30's was the temp - HR stayed reasonably low for a run of this type but my legs and body did not want to respond at all. I gutted it out almost quitting at 6 but then I knew there would be a halfsie mile on my week and didn't want that... Saw Mark Howard over at centennial. He had just run 4 @ 7:20 pace...guess I won't be running with him much anymore... Splits 9:25, 9:17, 9:17, 9:13, 9:11, 9:10, 9:23(half mile) HR avg. 144, overall pace avg. 9:16

| Raining hard and it's pitch black outside... This cold is making it hard to do much of anything. Just a very easy treadmill run this morning after seminary. Did not wear the HR monitor as I just wanted something easy and kept it that way. Did some memorizing so it wasn't too boring. Did 2.5 minutes of shoeless running at the end...that seems to work the calves like crazy for me. Will try to do some of that each tread run. Hope this cold goes away soon!

| Was hoping to run outside but it was 1-Cold 2-Dark 3-Wet Treadmill run, same as Mon and Tues...checked the ol HR today though. It stayed under 140 until 40 second sprint before taking shoes off and running shoeless for 5 minutes.

| Weather is really nice. 55ish and no rain. Half the sky is blue and the other half is dark gray.
Went down to Snoqualmie with Larry. Ran from the train area. 6.25 easy. Then dropped him off and was going to run another 2.25 outside but I was chilled so ran those miles on Tread. Larry just signed up for Newport so we should have a good crew down there.
