Elliptical for 45 minutes. Was in Utah until Friday morning. Had an issue with where we were going to stay for Friday and Sat. night so we ended up coming home early. The mornings were all perfect running weather...nice and cool...too bad I wasn't able to go running!

Elliptical 45 minutes. 10 warm up, 25 moderate and 10 more cool-down. 

Had a stomach bug since Sunday and happy to be rid of it. Had to stick close to el bano for a few days...

May be back running next week!!

45 minutes Elliptical with 10 min. warm, 25 moderate and 10 min. cool down.

Going to do one more elliptical session tomorrow and then a test run on Monday. Maybe a TM run just to make sure I don't get out too far and have problems.

Perfect running weather and I'm stuck inside!!!

46 minutes elliptical. Perfect weather outside(for running)...just OK weather inside. 

Hopefully going to run on Monday...everything feels like it's ready to go...cross your fingers!

Experiment Day: Stocking feet warm-up on Treadmill then into slow and easy jog for .5 mile to test for any muscle tenderness. None!!!! Running barefoot forced me to run on balls of my feet which put a ton of pressure on my calves...thought they would explode if I went faster.

After .5 mile went and put on shoes. Then another 1.6 miles...that was way easier to run on. I forced myself to do a midfoot landing which felt good. Pace was extremely pedestrian to assure that this was easing into the running lifestyle again. All went well. Will see later today and tomorrow if there is any residual tenderness/soreness.

Feels good to put an actual # on the mile chart today. Got my heart rate up to low 120's is all on the run. Wanted to run harder but was not going to do it the first day out and screw something up.

Then went and did .5 hour on elliptical. Got HR up to 139 for a bit. Happy to get 1 whole hour of exercise in even though it was really easy stuff.

Looks like I may opt out of the Railroad Days 10K and just volunteer...then look for a half in the fall sometime.

Treadmill run again just to keep it easy on everything. 3 min. walking start then slow jog, got up to speed much quicker than Monday. Avg. Pace 12:00. Best pace 10:54 for a bit. HR high around 140 Noticed that I could have run for hours at this pace as it is quite easy but wanted to still keep it real easy as I get back into it. My form is a little bit off as I'm still running awkwardly to avoid any soreness/tenderness in affected area. Felt pretty good. Was planning on running again tomorrow but think I will wait until Friday.

25 minutes elliptical easy/moderate with HR avg. around 140. Feels good to sweat a bit. More elliptical and some weight lifting tomorrow.

Still just the smallest amount of tenderness/soreness when running...only when running though so going to continue with elliptical and weight lifting and maybe some biking.

45 minutes on elliptical. Nothing special...it's raining out today and about 55 degrees. Love running in that stuff during the summer, not so much in the winter.

Another elliptical day. 50 minutes... Gonna go till the end of Aug. just doing elliptical and hope I'm all good to go after that!

Due to the fact that this dumb whatever it is that I have is not totally healing up, I'm going to go 2 whole weeks with no exersize. It seems like the elliptical work is causing it to stick around. 

So instead of working out my body, I'm going to workout my spirit for 2 hours a day reading scriptures. I will read the B of M an hour every morning that would normally be reserved for running, etc. and an hour before bed. It usually takes me about 30 total hours to read it so it'll be close to 2 weeks.

Because of the no exersize thing I'm going to have to be on a strict diet of nothing but goodness going into my body; fruits, veggies and whole grain stuff...no refined sugars, flours etc...

Just 2 weeks! This is going to be tough I think!

A week ago I decided to stop anything that might cause irritation to the affected areas and chose to read the Book of Mormon instead for an hour or 2 a day. Today I was called as a Seminary teacher(Early Morning) and Book of Mormon is this years curriculum. 

Funny how that works!

Not sure how this will affect my running but pretty sure will work out as we meet M, T Wed off then T, F. 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Running has taught me how to be OK going out of my comfort zone...

At least one  more week of no running or anything like unto it.

2 weeks of no exercise at all and the problem that has been causing difficulty feels to be gone. On Saturday I was at a park and just did a very short jog with no soreness/tenderness in the affected areas.

Just to be on the safe side I'm going to go another 3-4 days before opening it up and jogging. Probably Wednesday or Thursday. :-) Very happy about this...need to get some sweating going on!
