47 degrees with misty showers but not too bad. Went out to Centennial park and jogged 2 miles. Then started the tempo run from the golf course. Exactly 3 miles to Mt. Si Road and turned around. Was easy starting out, in fact first little bit was 6:45 pace and I thought WOW, this is getting a lot easier, then settled into 7:30 pace for the remainder of the 1st 3 miles. Then I found out why it was so easy going...Wind was reverse of normal!! And it was killer coming back...surprised myself that my HR stayed reasonably low even with all of the extra work against the wind. It was work but it was doable. Not easy but I know I'm improving and that is nice! Tons of rabbits on the trail

Next speed workout on April 29 and am shooting for 5 X 1 mile with 800 jogs and a total of 10-11 miles.

Yes, that wind direction is rare for us! I saw rabbits on that trail on Sunday too. Nice run, Jeff, and unlike me not a bit of whining about the gravel. You rock! (get it? sorry - bad joke, but you do) ;)

That is fast.

Sno- It did seem like more gravel than usual in some parts today...I did like the joke :-)

jun- Dude - I WISH that my time on a half marathon could be even close to your 1:36.

Nice work!

Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks jefferey. I had no idea what i was doing at the time. Maybe someday i'll be able to repeat it.

Come on now jun...that's got to be a 7:15 pace for 13.1 miles! That's the pace I run in a 10K... YOU are the MAN!

Ha. Thanks. Honestly though, I was just running. I had no plan other than the goal time in my head.

Your HRs are crazy. I'm lucky if I can run a sub 10 minute mile without my HR hitting 157.

Monte,

That is the avg that day. Which is way better than usual. It hit at the top 165 I think. My heart is getting in much better condition I believe... Also, because I'm a lot older than you my max hr is only about 180-182
