Another elliptical day - I had the garmin on the wrong screen and was watching avg. hr instead of current hr. Wondered why it was so tough to get my hr up. Oh well, good darn workout! Max HR 158 and avg. 135. This is working my quads pretty good without causing the tenderness I've been having lately that comes with running. Probably another week like this then maybe test it on a short run.

Happy Independence day! Just put a 10 lb. brisket on the smoker...dinner @ 3 today

Yum! Brisket!

Hey, we missed you today! You could have come down and run 11:00 minute miles with the slow train this morning. lol I was happy to run with them - all very nice - as I'm still "in recovery," but there was a good deal of huffing, puffing going on around me -- and walking. I walked with them, just to be social. Next week it's back to the wee-bit-faster lane! Happy Independence day!

Sno, I have to get rid of this tender muscle deal first...doesn't matter how slow I go. Do you guys have plans already? Just found out that we will have some extra guests for dinner and have to do ribs now too.

Thanks so much, Jeff! We do have plans, friends coming over. I'll take a rain check and thanks very much. I am such a carnivore, all that sounds so yummy! Just burgers here. Good luck with your recovery.

Teena -

The brisket turned out perfectly done! That doesn't always happen but it's very tasty when it does though.

Had some extras coming so did some baby back ribs too and they turned out $$$ too.

Hope everyone had a great Independence day. We are very lucky to live in this free country!

YUM, more BBQ! I love BBQ. Your making me hungry.

It will be good to see you reporting some running miles when your feeling better.

Keep up the good cross training!

So ... how are you feeling today?

Are you considering a short run on Saturday?

You could always do the 1/2 at the Seattle Marathon-1/2 marathon in november.

Teena - Still a bit tender(from playing softball) and will sit out till it's gone. No sense rushing it.

CanyonMan- That is a possibility but I think that's run on a Sunday which I don't do for religious reasons. Any other ones you know of?
