Outside run with perfect running weather...overcast and 50 degrees! Went out nice and easy trying to keep the HR down. It stayed in 130's to low 140's for the first 3/4ths of a mile then started going up past 150. Mostly due to hills.

I did a modified tempo run where I got my HR to tempo levels but the speed was nowhere near what it used to be. There is a hill coming down Douglas to Carmichael that I opened up on to feel a little speed. It felt great! I also felt some muscles in the lower abdomen area so I slowed down...

HR maxed out at 172 and averaged 155. Pace was 8:55 overall and here are the splits.

1-8:56 2-9:25 3-9:06 4-8:10

Next up Tomorrow short warm up jog and then elliptical for 30 minutes.

You are back in full swing sir. With this renewed ability to run again, do you have any races scheduled? you mention in your profile that you will be looking for a half marathon. Found what yet?

Nice run! I'm so glad you missed yesterday's heat. Today was p-e-r-f-e-c-t!

Jun- I am targeting the half marathon the first weekend in May here in Snoqualmie. I wouldn't mind finding another one in the first part of the year also. Feels so good to be back but I'm still going to ease back into it.

Sno- A guy came to my office saying that the weather was horrible and I corrected him and informed him that it seemed PERFECT for me as I am a runner.

Sounds like a great run to me!! You have to love it when the weather cooperates so well!

Have fun on the elliptical tomorrow! :)

I always have fun at Nookachamps if you want a half-m in January. I've run it 3 times & there is at least one race report for it on my blog.

http://www.nookachamps.com/ (But they never get the updated info on the site until November or so.)
